Phillip Thomas

I’ve been wakeboarding for 26 years and have been a certified water sports instructor for 7 years. I got my first wakeboard when I was 14 years old and learned how to wakeboard behind a 1982 GlassMaster with a 115hp Johnson outboard motor. I was fortunate enough to have some friends with good wakeboarding boats who encouraged me to skip college organic chemistry summer classes a few too many times to go wakeboarding instead. That’s where I learned over 25 different flips and spins!

I also have a passion for outdoor adventure!  Some of my favorite outdoor activities include water sports, fishing, camping, and kiteboarding. I am an extreme sports enthusiast and skydiving instructor with over 500 skydives including wingsuit jumps, hot air balloon jumps, and 1 BASE jump off the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia.

I currently teach Outdoor Education at Meadow Glen Middle School in Lexington, SC.  I have a Doctorate Degree in curriculum and instruction, and I am also a SCDNR boater education instructor and American Heart Association CPR/First Aid instructor.

Certifications: USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Instructor, SCDNR Boater Education Instructor, American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Instructor
